Can I use multiple FreqInOut FO1 units?
Yes. The FO1 supports dual-unit setup, allowing up to 8 channels of analog I/O. USB bandwidth and DAW integration may affect further expansion.
When using multiple units, remember to hit the Auto-ID button in the AnalogHub software. This ensures that all units gets recognised.
Is FreqInOut FO1 a sound card?
No. FO1 is not an audio interface—it’s a USB-C analog matrix that transforms your outboard gear into plugin-controlled signal chains. It enhances your existing setup by adding parallel processing, M/S support, and modular routing.
Can I use FO1 for parallel and M/S processing?
Yes. The built-in hardware matrix allows for zero-latency routing, parallel processing, and even Mid/Side (M/S) processing through the FreqInOut plugin interface.
Whats the difference to upgrading your interface to have more i/o?
Upgrading your interface adds inputs—but FreqInOut FO1 gives you plugin-style control over outboard gear. It handles routing, latency compensation, parallel processing, and recall inside your DAW. No patching, no guesswork—just smarter hybrid workflow. Plus, it's expandable via USB without replacing your existing setup.
Does this feature only support on/off switching, or is there a plugin version with parameters that can be assigned to the device’s knobs?
It’s much more than on/off. The FreqInOut FO1 comes with a plugin that lets you fully control routing, levels, dry/wet mix, and more—right inside your DAW. You can even assign plugin parameters to the FO1’s physical knobs for real-time tweaking and save everything as presets with instant recall.
Can I record instruments or microphones via the FreqInOut unit?
The FreqInOut unit is currently best for tracking outboard gear, like adding your favourite analog equipment to an existing recording. But it is also possible to record any audio source that you connect to one of the 4 inputs. The FreqInOut doesn't have a mic preamp or phantom power 48v but it does have a +18db gain knob inside the plugin to compensate.
